Winter Mini-Retreat 2013
Wow did we have fun. Over 40 members and non-members joined us at the Waltz Building on Saturday, 19 January 2013. We had more food than could possibly be consumed, April and Sherry brought their latte machine and Tandy made freshly popped popcorn. We had fun with the crocheted granny square and weaving tutorials. Barb manned the spinning circle and brought an extra wheel for people to try their hand at spinning. Country Yarns, The Hungry Pelican and Uppercase Books, were very generous in offering attendees discounts. Many people brought door prizes and so we were able to give away over 20 books, yarn, and other goodies, including a loom.
I am really looking forward to the retreat next year. It was a fun and inexpensive activity to do on a dreary wintery day and I enjoyed spending time getting to know some of the wonderful people who share my passion for fiber.
