apples, the routines of school, and the browns, reds, and oranges of changing leaves.
We settle in with a cup of hot tea or coffee, or a bowl of homemade soup. We pull out
the afghans and shawls to curl up with an engaging book or listen to the rain. I choose
larger projects to cover my lap while I knit.
In September, we are excited to hold our elections and celebrate a birthday! Our guild
was formed in the fall of 2009 and is now 5 years old. I have been honored to serve as
your guild President over the past year and look forward to hearing the results of this
year’s election. I will not be able attend our meeting in September as I will be visiting
my husband’s family in Arizona. I do hope you will attend as we need a quorum for
the vote to be valid. We will also be voting on a revision of our Bylaws to better reflect
the descriptions of our officer duties and procedures. The September 9th meeting will
be run by our Vice President, Katherine and our Member-At-Large, Maureen. There
will be door prizes and cake!
Thanks so much to those of you who offered suggestions for programs at the last
meeting. Our new Board will be discussing those ideas and will come up with a slate
of fantastic speaker and learning opportunities for our meetings. It is time for
membership renewal and we hope many of you will join us for another year of fiber,
fun, and friendship.
Guild President
