July 10 ~ July 24, 2021 | Edmonds Yarn Bombing
A sign that the pandemic has taken a positive turn :) The Lynnwood Stitch 'n Bitch is planning a yarn bombing event in July and they have invited us to participate!
The details:
- Knit or Crochet 12" or 24" squares in washable yarn.
- Drop off the squares at Stranded by the Sea in Edmonds by June 30th.
- The more the merrier so invite your friends :)
- Installation plan is to wrap portions of Stranded by the Sea, the trees along Sunset Ave, the benches and fixtures along the waterfront, etc. (More squares, more things can be yarn bombed :)
- It will be up for about three (3) weeks. Then, squares will be made into pet beds and snuggle blankets for the Everett Animal Shelter.
Notes:
The Lynnwood S&B group is using the Snuggles Project specifications. Knit or crochet 12" or 24" squares in machine washable yarns. There is a pattern library that may be helpful.
https://www.snugglesproject.org/pattern-library/index.html
This should be a fun project to participate in. I can't imagine that they wouldn't accept woven squares.
If you have any questions, please email webmaster at snohomishknittersguild.org (replace the word "at" with "@" no spaces).
Thanks!

ONGOING | Cedar Creek Memory Center
Local volunteer opportunity
The Cedar Creek Memory Care Community in Edmonds is seeking volunteers interested in teaching or demonstrating for their senior residents. Here's some information sent recently to the Guild via e-mail:
"We are interested in bringing many more creative/ expressive experiences into our residents lives. Whether demonstrating a specific medium in front of a small audience or teaching / instructing while our residents follow along, our residents love opportunities for creative exploration and any chance to use non-verbal mediums to express themselves and also remember the past. Would you or anyone you know like to volunteer some time? We are interested in all artistic / expressive experiences. We would love to have you!"
If interested, please contact:
