Snohomish Knitters Guild

2016 Knit Along

The Snohomish Knitters Guild worked on the Irish Mesh Cowl for its first Knitalong (KAL) ! Thanks to members at the March 8th meeting who reviewed three patterns – it was a close vote!

For those doing the KAL, here’s what you need to work on before the Tue Apr 12th Guild meeting:

Print out and read the free pattern on Ravelry for the Irish Mesh Cowl.

Find a yarn to use. Maybe you have a fingering weight skein of yarn (220 yards) in your stash. Ravelry shows 916 completed projects for this cowl with several yarn suggestions.

Complete a swatch to confirm you’re using the size of needles to get gauge. Or decide to be wild and don’t do a swatch.

Plan to cast on with everyone else at the April 12th meeting. If not attending, members are asked to please cast on that day if they can. We’ll be able to help each other with any pattern questions at upcoming meetings. There’s a plan for a completed KAL Show and Tell for either the July or August SKG meeting.

If you need help printing the pattern from Ravelry, Tandy announced at last night’s meeting that Mad Cow Yarn in Bothell would be glad to print it out for you.

Are you excited? How many different yarns do you think will be used? Let’s have fun!
