14 May| Cast ons, Body Measuring & Experts! Oh my!
Join us for some relaxed tutorials and move between them at your own pace. We will have several stations set up around the room for you to try out some knitted cast ons, for example picot and provisional plus a few others, so bring your yarn and some needles to learn/practice your knitted cast ons.
Several of our members learned about measuring your body in the free fitting booth, at Vogue Knitting Live and will be sharing some of their tips and measuring expertise to help you find your own measurements for better fitted fiber creations.
Do you have a project that has you stumped? Come and ask our knit & crochet experts for their help.
For those of you who would prefer to just hang out with your cohorts and work on your latest project, we will have our usual tables set up for that as well!

13 August| Knit to Fit - creating more flattering garments
At this meeting, Aleen will share with us some of the principals of Amy Herzog's book Knit to Flatter. This book "is is about learning to celebrate the body you have been given, and creating sweaters that make you look and feel great." See Aleen's great book review in the upcoming May Newsletter.
Aleen will walk us through some of the principles covered in the book and help us understand how to choose and create the right patterns for our own unique figures. Short rows and darts to improve pattern fit will also be covered.

10 September| Birthday Celebration and more!
Join us in celebrating the guild's birthday! We will have cake, door prizes, a raffle, Secret Pal Swap and general fibery fun. Bring your projects to work on while you enjoy the festivities and visit with your friends, fellow guild members and visitors. This is a terrific time to bring your friends and neighbors, so that they can see how much fun the Snohomish Knitters Guild is!
Would you love to get a gift of your own? Join the Secret Pal Swap and create a gift for a fellow guild member to surprise them with at the meeting, when you receive yours. This is perfect for those of us who have longed for a postage-free swap opportunity. Signups are open until 15 May.
We will also be accepting your membership renewals online starting 1 September and at this meeting.
