Snohomish Knitters Guild Policies
Set up before meetings
Members are encouraged to come early and help set up chairs for the meeting. A board member must be present at the open and close of the facility. All attendees help in the breakdown at the close of the meeting (replacement of chairs, clean up, etc.)
Handicap Access
The SKG facility (Waltz building) is easily accessible and includes an entrance ramp for wheelchair access.
Promotional Announcements
We discourage promotional announcements at Snohomish Knitter’s Guild meetings in order to devote as much time as possible to regular business. Members are welcome to bring fiber-related printed material handouts for display at the entrance table.
Children
Children who craft with fiber are welcome to accompany members to the meetings and events, but we appreciate considerate parental supervision. Breastfed and/or bottle-fed non-mobile infants are allowed at meetings as long as they are removed by the parent if they become disruptive.
New Knitters Support
A fundamental principle of the SKG is the education and support of new hand-knitters. Funds are committed to the creation of knit kits in cooperation with local yarn shops. If you are interested in helping teach new knitters and need knit kits to get them started, please contact the Membership Committee chair.
Roster
A Roster of members is maintained and available to Members only upon request by email. It is never published on the website. The Roster is to be used for casual networking within SKG only, and is not to be used for commercial purposes. Violation of this policy may result in the revocation of membership privileges. If you need to update your contact information or send a request for contact info, please send an email to the Membership chair at [email protected].
Holiday Party Donations
The Snohomish Knitters Guild solicits donations and purchases gift certificates from Yarn Shops and SKG members each winter for the December holiday party.
Correspondence
The SKG minimizes expenses by using electronic sources (e-mail, the SKG Web site, Ravelry group, etc.) to communicate to the membership.
