5 June 2013 | Martingale Press Tour

Picture
The guild has organized a tour of the Martingale Press facility on 5 June at 1 pm. We are currently full, but please contact Barb, SKG President if you would like to be placed on a wait list, in case someone cancels.

From Martingale website: Take our office tour and enjoy an up-close look at original designs from books we’ve published. (Seriously, we’ve decked out every room.) You’ll even get a peek at never-before-seen designs from upcoming books.

The tour wraps up in our Hurt Book Room—but don’t worry, it’s a happy place! There you can buy slightly injured books* at bargain prices, chock-full of patterns for quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and other crafts. (No serious injuries here. Surface wounds only.)

If you would like to arrange your own tour: free one-hour tours begin every Monday and Wednesday at 1 p.m. (PST). Reservations are required; please make yours at least one month in advance, as tours are very popular. Groups are limited to 12 people, but large groups can be split into smaller groups with advance notice. Because of the business environment, this tour is not recommended for children.

Reserve your spot at (800) 426-3126. Once you've made your reservation, please let us know if your plans change. Someone may be waiting for a spot to open up.

8 - 16 June 2013 | WWKiP Day

Picture
The Everett Public Library has invited the guild to create a display for the first few weeks in June, to correspond with World Wide Knit in Public Day. We are looking for volunteers to help us plan and create this display. If you have some fun ideas and would like to help us out, please complete the form on our website.

We will be having an event sometime between 8 June - 16 June in the Snohomish County area. We will post that information as soon as we have secured a location and decided upon a day.

8 June | WWKiP Event

Bookends Coffee Company in the Everett Public Library will be hosting the Snohomish Knitters Guild as we share our love of knitting with the public. The event will run from 10 am - 4 pm and is free to attend (however, please consider supporting the coffee shop with the purchase of a beverage or treat). Drop in anytime of the day for a quick visit or to sit and knit/crochet/spin with us.

We will have joining information, new knitter kits and perhaps some other fun as well. Be sure to stop by the Children's area and check out our fabulous display.

25 July 2013 | Stitch 'n Pitch

Picture
The Seattle Mariners and Pacific Fabrics & Crafts invite you to enjoy the ninth annual Stitch 'n Pitch Night at Safeco Field! Bring your knitting, stitching, quilting or other fiber arts projects to the game, get help from the experts, view the latest samples from area shops and meet other enthusiasts all while enjoying Mariners Baseball.

Your ticket includes a FREE Stitch 'n Pitch giveaway item (still to be determined, available at the game).

The guild will have tickets for sale soon ($15 each). Additional information will be added and revised as it becomes available.

18 - 20 October | Fall Fiber Retreat

Picture
An annual event sponsored by the Snohomish Knitters Guild. Open to everyone.

Join us for our 4th Annual Fall Fiber Retreat. Our previous three retreats have been outstanding successes and we look forward to another exciting time in 2013 at Camp Huston in Goldbar, WA, set in the beautiful foothills of the Cascade Mountains about an hour east of Seattle.

Spots are still available. More information.
