An annual event sponsored by the Snohomish Knitters Guild. Open to everyone.

Join us for our Annual Fall Fiber Retreat. Our previous retreats have been outstanding successes and we look forward to another exciting time in 2021 at Camp Huston in Goldbar, WA, set in the beautiful foothills of the Cascade Mountains about an hour east of Seattle.

Registration Form
Click the button above to pay your deposit and complete the registration form. Paying by check, we have a different process this year (thank you Covid) - contact our Retreat Coordinator for instructions and complete your registration form.
Bed linens and towels will be available again for the price of $15.00. Deposits will be $50.00 plus Paypal fees. We'll also take checks or cash with no added fees. Unless the retreat is cancelled, your deposit is non-refundable. It cannot be applied to any other guild event or membership fee. If your plans change and you are unable to attend the retreat, you should be able to sell your spot to someone else and recoup your deposit that way. We will try to assist you in selling your spot, but cannot make any guarantees. Please email the Retreat Coordinator, as soon as possible, if your plans change and you are no longer able to attend.

In July, registered participants will receive information to pay their remaining balance, which will be due by 28 August 2021.

If you would like to be placed on a waiting list (in case of cancellation) please email Georgia, Retreat Coordinator.

Accommodations are two people to a room (additional fee for single occupancy room, if space is available). In addition to the comfortable environment for the retreat, great hiking is available nearby at Wallace Falls. The retreat will be available to members and non-members as the event serves as outreach for the guild.
Barbara Eakin
Memorial Scholarship
Picture
Barbara Eakin attended every Fall Fiber Retreat. She was an amazing woman, who gave of herself often and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Many retreat goers knew her and loved to hear her laugh.

Barbara passed away in January 2014 from injuries sustained in a serious car accident. In memory of her generous spirit, the guild has created a scholarship fund that will allow a single person (chosen by the SKG Board) who is experiencing family or financial hardship, to attend the fiber retreat without payment.

If you would like to donate to this fund, please click the Donate button below.

*To nominate someone for this scholarship, please email the SKG Board. All nominations will be taken into consideration and awarded anonymously by the SKG Board.

FAQs

Q: Where is Camp Huston?
A: Camp Huston is located in Goldbar, about a 25 minute drive from Snohomish, WA (~20 miles) down Hwy 2.
Q: What type of accommodations are there?
A: We will stay in the Paddock cabin (more like a dorm than a rustic cabin) at Camp Huston. It has heated rooms with two twin beds in each room. A restroom and shower serves every four rooms. Each lodge has a meeting area with a sink, microwave and refrigerator for snacks, and a fireplace or woodstove. Free Wi-Fi access. No restrictions on outside food or beverages.
Q: Do I have to knit on the retreat?
A: No! We have folks who lean towards other handwork joining us. This is about connecting and relaxing!
Q: How do I find out who my roommate is?
A: Roommates are not assigned. Individuals pair up by previous arrangement (between themselves) or the Retreat Coordinator will help you find a roommate upon your arrival at the retreat.
Q: Can I stop by and visit during the day or have a friend/family come by?
A: Due to limited physical space in the facility, we cannot have daytime visitors. If you wish to attend for part of the time, you must still pay for the two night weekend.

Q: I must eat gluten-free. Do I need to bring my own food?
A: Camp Huston can accommodate many dietary needs. Just let us know on the input form.
Q: What if I cannot attend Friday night, can I come for the rest of the weekend?
A: Yes! Unfortunately, there is no reduction in cost, but we’ll hold your bed. Just let us know in the comments section on the registration form.
Q: Will there be classes? Do I need to bring something specific for a project?
A: We may pull together some mini-demos, but your time is your own and you are not required to bring or do anything other than relax!
Q: Who is invited to reserve a space?
A: This retreat is open to the public and we invite everyone to pay a deposit and register as space allows. If you missed the initial sign-up phase, please send email to the Retreat Coordinator to be placed on the wait list.
Q: Can my significant other attend with me?
A: This is a crafter's weekend, therefore if your significant other knits, crochets, quilts, etc, they are welcome to attend with you. There is no gender restriction.
